Read-aloud Friday: Vem ser Dim?

Nu är det dags för högläsning igen!

It is now time for readaloud again!

For today’s reading, I have chosen a children’s book that I spoke about last Sunday: Vem ser Dim? by Maria Nilsson Thore. Dim is a tiny little bug that lives in the forest. He is so tiny that no one sees him. And this is his tiny little story.

For this read-aloud I have done something different. I used a Warcraft special effect (can you guess which one?). Happy listening!

Men visste du att allra längst där nere
bor det en filur som heter Dim?
Han är som du och jag, fast mycket mindre.
Så liten att han undrar om han finns.

OH HAI! Mister Pops suddenly jumped into view as I was photographing the pages I was reading from… (he is also the reason I had one or two “strange pauses” in my reading—he was swishing his tail to my face while parading on the desk.)

Dim ordnar allt så bra omkring sig.
Han leker, samlar, uppfinner och trivs.
I skogen är det kul att vara liten,
men trist att ingen ser allt fint han gör.

De stora vandrar glada genom skogen,
klampar fram och skrattar med varann.
Var kommer de ifrån? Vart ska de?
Dim önskar så att han fick vara med.

Varje gång de stora stannar
ropar Dim och visar sina tricks.
Han hoppar, sjunger, visslar och jonglerar.
Men aldrig nånsin ser de lilla Dim.

Dim kan inte låta bli att undra,
om de inte ser mig, finns jag då?
Han måste göra något åt det genast.
Kanske bygga något som de stora ser?

And the story continues… This book is perfect for reading aloud by parents to their kids or in my case, from pawrent (me!) to their furkid (Mister Pops the cat). Dim is such a loveable character and wait until you meet Lummer in the story!
