Svenska för invandrare (sfi)
In my previous post I mentioned about submitting an application to join the Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) program. It’s a municipal-sponsored program offered free-of-charge to residents of Sweden. In my case, it’s covered under the Jönköpings kommun.
I attended the first class on Monday, 25 October. […]
It’s All in the Details
I’ve been following Bill Shander’s Data Visualization: A Lesson and Listen Series on LinkedIn Learning, and it’s one of my favorite courses on the platform for data visualization.
In this post, I want to highlight one simple process Shander mentioned that could help make big decisions about designing a data visualization: W-A-R-T. […]
THE GAP AND THE GAIN
Today is the day! I’ve been waiting in anticipation for the release of THE GAP AND THE GAIN by Dr. Benjamin Hardy and his co-author Dan Sullivan. And I’ve been waiting for this moment to publish my post.
I’ve read the book twice (yes, twice!) and GAIN so much from it. I’ve satisfied my curiosity and made notes about a lot of questions in my mind as I tackled the book. […]
Weekend Kanelbullar Ritual (WKR)
I started a weekend ritual that involves cinnamon buns (kanelbullar in Swedish). It’s called the Weekend Kanelbullar Ritual (WKR).
I love, love, LOVE cinnamon buns!
Month 1 in Sweden: My shipment has arrived!
After carefully curating and donating hundreds of my books to the National Library in Singapore, I was left with 18 boxes that eventually left on a cargo ship to sail across the ocean to Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In those 18 boxes were almost 1,000 books and magazines, including stationery and art supplies.
From Rotterdam, they made their way to Huskvarna, Sweden, and arrived safely on 16 September on a drizzling Thursday night, exactly one month after departing from Singapore. It was 20:12 when I received the text message from Stefan from Drent informing they’re here. […]
Month 1 in Sweden
Today on 16 September is exactly a month after I had left Singapore with Mister Pops the cat and arrived in Sweden—in Huskvarna to be exact that is about 1.5 hours’ drive from Gothenburg. It’s wonderful to be reunited with Mister Bear!
Planning the move and executing it from start to finish had been a challenging but great experience. In addition to putting my administration and project management skills to good use (which is my bread and butter!), I have also learned many new things. […]
Svenska för invandrare (sfi)
Jag har skickat in min SFI ansökan. Vad är SFI? Kursen startar den 25 oktober och jag kommer att få mer information under vecka 41. […]
Will you choose to matter?
Most of us are already successful, but according to Seth Godin that is not the question. The question is, will you choose to matter?
I have a few ideas swimming in my head. And this has to do with a major life event I’m about to embark on in August this year.
