This is a 100-word book review.
12 Districts, 12 boys, 12 girls: Each district is to provide 1 boy and 1 girl to be entered as tributes into the Hunger Games in the Capitol, Panem. Conducted annually to punish citizens for an earlier rebellion, it also serves as a reminder. District 12’s Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take over her younger sister’s place. Peeta Mellark goes with her. Together, they fight to the death, and ultimately only one wins. I don’t like the idea of children being tossed into such a deadly and cruel “game,” but the book kept me in suspense throughout.
