Zinio

I discovered Zinio by accident. It all started with the subscription of Yoga Journal but without the clutter. I don’t want to have a pile of magazines building up again in my apartment, so when I saw the option to subscribe digitally through Zinio, I was beyond happy. It’s so cheap for international subscribers, too, at only US$16.95. The Zinio delivery platform of the magazine is extensive and compatible with iPad, iPhone, Android, PC/MAC, Win8, just to name a few. Frankly, I’m very happy with this discovery.

The Advantages:

  1. Delivery is immediate. I don’t need to wait for the physical magazine to arrive and now I get my mags ahead of time—at least one month before it hits the bookstores!

  2. I get to keep all the issues minus the pile-up—just like my Kindle e-books.

  3. I get to read my mags anywhere without having to carry the load with me. I can travel light! For a person like me who loves traveling, Zinio is God-sent.

  4. I get huge savings! I can now read foreign magazines at a very much reduced price. I'm currently subscribed to Cosmopolitan Italia, Elle Italia, and I'm contemplating to add Vogue Italia to the list of subscriptions too.

  5. The variety is awesome.

The (Only) Disadvantage (for me):

  1. I can’t feel and smell the paper, which makes me kind of sad.

The Verdict? I LOVE IT! It satisfies my need to read, and now, with its expanded role for my foreign language learning minus the clutter!
