Rituals

This, my friends, is why rituals are important: Eric Barker of Barking Up the Wrong Tree explains.

I have my own sets of rituals for various occassions. Morning routine if working from home. Morning routine if working in the office. Rubber stamping dates on post-it notes or index cards. Singing a certain tune when Mister Pops the Cat plops onto the floor after a routine “catch-the-feather” game. Singing a certain tune when on my walk to Swedish komvux class. Caressing a particular book on my bookshelves on Friday evenings. Rituals make me very happy. Even Mister Pops has a “Chu-Chu” ritual to start his mornings.

Predictable routines intravenously dump confidence into your bloodstream and turn you into a 100% US RDA approved Tyrannosaurus of the workplace.
— Eric Barker

Mister Barker, you funny.
