A Dream Came True
So much of what happened in my life were the result of the decisions I made—some were good, some were bad—but all in all, I am reaping the rewards today. All the good and the bad shaped my life providing me with the experience that only those who'd gone through the things they'd gone through would understand.
Quotes
“Create in your mind a scenario of experience, but then put it away. Stuff it into your pocket. Because no matter how you plot and plan, life's winds of adversity of your innocent mistakes will at times blow you off course. When you make interior or exterior journeys, there will be times you don't know where you're going. [...] Whatever you do, keep paddling.” —Marlee LeDai, author “Go Girl”
Quotes
“Seeing is a learned process. Some of us go through life "seeing" very little of the power and glory around us. We do not properly filter the information that our eyes give through the mental processes of the brain. As a result we often behold things without seeing them at all. We receive physical impressions without grasping their meaning to us.” —Napolean Hill
MOJO
I bought MOJO in February 2010 and the book has been on my bookshelf since. Now, three years later, I started reading it.
I started reading it two nights ago. I instantly felt better about my work. My attitude toward my work has not always been positive and sometimes I get so frustrated with the people I work with, I tend to snap and be the opposite of awesome.
Why I Blog
“The reality is, I blog in order to clarify my thinking and archive my best ideas. In short, I blog for me. (But you are welcome to read along!)
It shouldn’t make any difference whether you have ten readers or one hundred thousand. [...] If you are writing, you are achieving greater clarity about your life, your work, and what matters most. That’s enough. And more than most people have.” —Michael Hyatt
Language Goals
I researched language fluency level and came across the Common European Framework of Reference. I reproduced the framework here so that I can come back to it in the future and gauge my fluency at any given time. My dream is, of course, to reach the “Mastery” (C2) level. However, to reach this stage I must be able to overcome what Seth Godin calls “The Dip” and in my opinion that starts at B2. Will I be able to surpass the challenge and not quit prematurely?
A Discovery of Witches
A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES by Deborah Harkness is a novel of magic, adventure and romance. Matthew Clairmont is an enigmatic vampire, a scientist, very intellectual, and although his initial interest is in an enchanted alchemical manuscript, now he can't seem to resist Diana Bishop, a young scholar and historian.
Diana is a powerful witch in denial of her own powers. And she is the one who could unlock the secrets of the ancient manuscript Matthew has his eyes on.
Quotes
“Before I met Matthew, there didn't seem to be room in my life for a single additional element—especially not something as significant as a fifteen-hundred-year-old vampire. But he'd slipped into unexplored, empty places when I wasn't looking.” —Deborah Harkness, author ”A Discovery of Witches”
