People watching is one of my favorite activities. I was at the ICA supermarket to collect a package and ordered a chicken hotdog and coffee (25 kr) while I was at it. One very elderly Swedish Uncle—I guess he is in his late eighties or early nineties—was contemplating buying a gift-pack Triss (150 kr.) that’s filled with some candies, and started chatting with me while I was waiting for my chicken hotdog. So I asked him, “Spelar du Triss?” (in English: Do you play Triss?) He replied that he seldom did nowadays, but one could ‘feel’ he really wanted to at that moment. The Triss pack actually looks really pretty.

I filled my paper cup with coffee and sat down with my chicken sausage. A few minutes later, the very elderly Swedish Uncle was seated two tables away and he looked happy. He bought it!

I continued watching the world go by and the well-dressed elderly Swedish Uncle. He was munching his candies from the pack and scrapping the Triss lotto, looking contented. I sincerely hope he wins something.
