I bought a car (I finally committed to owning something other than heaps of books)! It’s a Volvo C70 Cabriolet 2.0T, a first-generation year 2000 convertible model. From the moment I saw it in the ad for sale, I knew it was the car for me.
Borrowed this picture of the Volvo C70 from the car dealer
I love classic things. This car has got character. It’s elegant and in the shade of dark blue that I love. It’s a car that I want, not a car I need.
I love how old-school this thing is! Took this snapshot while I explored the car on my own after getting the keys…
This chap is in great shape for its age. Still, I am mindful and I do look forward to spending my days getting to know its intricacies, idiosyncrasies, and foibles.
Old cars have soul. This one has celebrated its 22nd birthday and has changed hands four times. I’m its fifth owner.
I’m committed to developing a MacGyver-level passion and understanding of the mechanics of automobiles so that I can take care of my C70 in the best possible way. Will I ever become a petrolhead? Only time will tell…
