I had a very random thought today—this morning—and felt that I must record it. Write it down somewhere. I decided to do it here.
I thought about my personal library.
Then I thought about the things in my personal library and why they’re there.
I’ll be turning 46 in September this year and I estimate I’ll live to around 80 (hopefully 90, but I’ll work with the smaller number to cater for the worst-case-scenarios). So, this means, I have around 34 years to enjoy my personal library and the stuff I made or put in it.
Which then brings me to the next random thought—more like a question, actually:
Should I continue to build it and should I not slow down instead? Or think about death cleaning?
The answer I gave myself is this: I have only one life. If I don’t continue to do a good job of making it as “Alice” as possible and enjoy the remaining days of my ganska (English: fairly) short life the “Alice Way,” why am I even here now?
So, I’m cracking on and saying “Hell yeah!” to curating the ‘clutter’ I thrive in, in this only life I have (or whatever’s left of it). We don’t live forever, is all I’m saying.

P/S: I think about death cleaning all the time, which is why I always have this lingering hesitation to create or make more stuff, because where is all this stuff going to go later, right? But I’ve come up with a plan to die well when death is finally here.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do share! 🖤
