I was flying from Penang to Kuala Lumpur to connect a flight to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. In that flight I was reading Platform by Michael Hyatt and came to page 124 (quote above), and wrote this post at Cafè Barbera at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The above passage resonated with me because when I started blogging in 2005, I was indeed blogging for me. At that time, I had wanted to write about books (mostly) and other things that are going on in my life (travel, events, etc.). I didn’t mind if I don’t have many readers, but when I do have some readers I do my best to engage with them. In the earlier days I participated in a lot of book memes but lesser and lesser now.

People often asked me how I find the time to blog and why I do it. I just make time for it. My blog gives me clarity about my life, my work—and above all—the things that matter to me such as reading, travel, and photography. I just find ways to integrate or cross-apply activities into my daily life and work—for example, I read while I travel and then post about it when I have downtime during the travel, and take photos and share them in my blog. The stuff I read lets me get creative with problem solving at work and any place. Really cool, actually.

It’s time to get to the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) to catch the Kota Kinabalu flight.
