George’s Secret Key to the Universe
GEORGE’S SECRET KEY TO THE UNIVERSE is written by Professor Stephen Hawking with his daughter, Lucy.
Stephen Hawking is a Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge and a leading theoretical physicist in the world. He also wrote the multi-million worldwide bestseller A Brief History of Time.
I picked up this book because I like science. Astronomy is one of my favourite subjects. The book mixes fiction and facts giving readers an exciting adventure story. George is a young boy who likes technology and wants a computer more than anything else. But his parents do not like modern inventions and want to live a simpler life. They wash their clothes by hand, use candles in place of electricity, and so on. All George has for himself is his pet pig, Freddy.

The Magic Touch, Vol. 1
THE MAGIC TOUCH, Vol. 1 by Izumi Tsubaki, is the first of the five mangas selected for the Manga Challenge hosted by Rhinoa. This will not be a review but instead I would like to share my feelings, particularly about liking a person and falling in love.
I totally relate with this: When you like a person, you think about that person very often. He or she will occupy your mind for just about every waking moment (and possibly even when you’re asleep and dreaming). For example, in this manga, Chiaki is reading the secret book of massage handed down by her older brother, and Yosuke pops into her mind: “Hmm, this looks good. How to prevent a cold. Although I bet Yosuke doesn’t get colds.” […]

Catching Fire
This is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy and here it gets even more suspenseful. The Capitol is unhappy with District 12’s victory (something happened in the first book). The year of victory coincides with the Quarter Quell, “a glorified version of the games,” which happens on every twenty-fifth anniversary of the games. The Capitol jumps on the chance for revenge:
