Studentlitteratur (The verdict? Wonderful!)

Mister Pops the Cat inspecting the package

A new batch of books arrived last week on Friday. This time, I tried something different. Instead of buying from my default online bookseller, namely Bokus.com (when I buy Swedish books), I decided to get this batch of books directly from the publisher instead. The said publisher is Studentlitteratur.

Studentlitteratur is a Swedish publishing house that specializes in educational textbooks and course literature for students and teachers. The company was founded in 1963 and has a strong focus on pedagogy. It works closely with teachers and educational researchers to develop engaging and effective materials. In addition to publishing, Studentlitteratur also offers digital services and solutions for the education sector.

Two metrics that I personally always observe when ordering online are the speed of delivery and accuracy of items delivered, AND I hope I will not have to contact the seller in case of problem.

Delivery was amazingly fast: I placed my order on 29 March and received the books on 31 March (am super impressed!). But delivery accuracy not so much…: My excitement died a little because I received only two out of the three books ordered. Which means I will have to contact the seller. I confess I was annoyed, but immediately went to work and emailed Studentlitteratur (in a calm and orderly manner…). I received an almost immediate response on the same day, and the missing book arrived three working days later. Faith restored!

Books I bought:

  1. Ordens värld (Ingegerd Enström)

  2. Svensk universitets grammatik för nybörjare (Gunlög Josefsson)

  3. Svensk universitets grammatik för nybörjare - övningar med facit och kommentar (Gunlög Josefsson)

Making a comparison between Studentlitteratur and Bokus, I saved 90 kronor (approximately US$9) from this purchase despite having to pay for delivery (Bokus delivery is always free for me because of my Bokus Play membership). As my Swedish language learning journey matures, I will definitely be buying directly more from Studentlitteratur when it comes to their publication.
