Yesterday Amazon.se delivered my fresh batch of books. Perfect timing. Today I launched right in, and started with How to Begin by MBS—nej, it’s not Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, but Michael Bungay Stanier. With an Eriksberg in hand to begin ‘the ritual’ I began reading.

It’s a very good book to end the current year and usher in the new. Peter Jöback’s Stockholm i natt is playing in the background. I took a sip of my Eriksberg.

I came to a passage that I must quote from the book. This passage about “process” is awesome material for my blog (my blog is mostly to remind myself of the thing that amuses and amazes me; inspiring stuff).

People who know me well know I’m obsessed about process. Especially good ones. I’m now stealing from MBS,

But a good process is a thing of beauty; it’s loose enough that you can make it feel your own, and tight enough to save you from distractions; it gives you some of what you want, and reveals what you didn’t know you needed; and it has an elegance and simplicity that makes it approachable, and engages enough with both theory and practical reality so it’s not simplistic or fragile.

A good process is scalable. That means it’s understandable, can be taught and learned, and can spread.

How beautiful is that?
