Greco’s Game

Greco’s Game by James Houston Turner is my second Aleksandr Talanov thriller. Having read the first, Department Thirteen, I was looking forward to reading this one the moment it becomes available on Kindle. The timing was perfect, too, because I’ll be vacationing in Bangkok and I can make this my holiday read!

Greco’s Game is a fast-paced story true to the Talanov spirit. Once you start it's really quite hard to stop. Fabulous plot.

I don’t play chess and have no interest in the game; yet, the author manages to ignite the interest in me by cleverly weaving the game strategy and thinking into the story. Here Talanov gets himself entangled in a major human trafficking ring while tracking down his wife’s murderer. He bumps into a beautiful Ukrainian prostitute and one thing leads to another (but not in the way you think). I finished the book before I finished my vacation. Bring on the third, James Houston Turner!

Greco’s Game can be read as a standalone. There is no need to follow the series in sequence BUT I would highly recommend doing that.
