Children's Books: Not escapism, but findism

In this delightful little volume, Katherine Rundell eloquently reminds us why children’s books deserve a place on everyone’s bookshelf, no matter their age. I finished it in one setting.

I’ve always believed children’s books hold a special kind of magic (see my related posts). Katherine Rundell said it best: they distill emotions into their purest forms. Think of them as literary vodka, she says. And you know what? She’s right.

When I pick up a children’s book, they take me by the hand and say, “Let’s go on an adventure together; let’s go find the truth together.” They remind me of the wonder I felt as a child.

This is why I collect children’s books—not just for their stories, but for what they represent. They whisper truths to anyone willing to listen.
