From Chance to Breakthrough

Thank you, Seth Godin, for the food for thought today.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025!

As we enter the new year, I’ve been reflecting on a snippet from Seth Godin’s blog, written in mid-December but perfect for this fresh start.

The title of his post, “What do we do with our chance?” is a thought-provoking question. The new year is a clean slate, but what truly makes it meaningful is how we respond to the chances it brings.

A new year often feels like a collective reset—when the world opens its doors to fresh opportunities, inviting us to reflect and realign our intentions. I feel it’s a natural checkpoint to consider the chances we have been given and those that lie ahead.

How we respond to these chances matters. It matters because opportunities alone are passive; they don’t transform our lives unless met with action. The new year is like fertile soil—full of potential. But the soil’s richness remains untapped without planting seeds and nurturing growth. Similarly, when we recognize, seize, and act on opportunities, we convert them into something meaningful.

This is why I think the start of a new year is the perfect time to adopt an intentional mindset. I constantly remind myself that chances aren’t magic—they’re invitations for me to create the magic myself.
